Finished digging mostly over where potatoes are to go on second plot

Today I went down the allotment for about 1 1/2 hours this morning and finished digging over where the potatoes are going however will now continue to dig more of the plot as I may need more space for my potatoes than originally thought (Got more seed potatoes). I will continue to dig down the potato end of the allotment when I have time however due to work today I was unable to do this today. I also need to rotivate this piece of the allotment as well as rotivate the rest of where I have dug when I have the time.

Continued digging where potatoes are going on second allotment

Today as it was my last day off from work for a while I have continued to dig over where the potatoes are to go on the second allotment. This is proving quite time consuming and I have done another 1 1/2 hours on the allotment today. I will have to finish this off at some point and hope to plant my potatoes quite soon.

Continued to dig over the second allotment again

One again I went down the allotment today for about 3 hours. I have continued to dig the second allotment managing to have dug about 12 feet of it. I have also started to dig where some of my brassicas where last year and this is where I am planning to put my potatoes this year. This piece of ground has quite a bit of coach grass on it as well as quite a few weeds. I have also rearranged the Greenhouse on the 1st allotment so I can start to move things from the Home Greenhouse to my allotment greenhouse shortly.

Continued Digging the 2nd Allotment

Today I went down the allotment again for another about 2 hours and continued to dig more of the second allotment over. I have dug over between the fruit bushes and the start of the lot and this is where I had previously not dug so it was quite hard work taking out all of the couch grass and dandelions. I will now continue to dig where the winter radishes where last year and work down the plot.

Done more digging on allotment 2

Today I went down the allotment for another 1 1/2 hours to do some more digging of allotment 2. I have dug couch grass up which I previously had not dug. I did not take the rotivator down today so have not rotivated the ground and this will be done sometime in the future. I am going to continue to dig this allotment as well as take up the parsnips out the other allotment and finish clearing that one.

Went onto second allotment for the first time this year

Today I went on to the second allotment for the first time this year for about 2 hours before it started to rain. I have started to dig over part of it removing the couch grass as well as last years beetroot. I also rotivated this piece of ground and its about 3ft x 20ft. Next time when I go down there I will continue to dig and rotivate the plot.

Cleared out Polytunnel and started to clear round Raised Beds

Today I went down the allotment for about 1 1/2 hours early this morning and I cleared out the Polytunnel from last years crop and cleared the weeds out. I have also started to clear the paths around the raised beds from weeds.

Went down the allotment - Digging and Rotivating

Today I went down the allotment for about 3 hours and continued to dig and rotivate between the Fruit Cage and Polytunnel and getting closer to the Polytunnel now. I also harvested the Maincrop and Early Carrots from last year and have started digging over where these were. I also dug up some of the Parsnips from last year aswell but some of these appear to be woody. I have also taken about 4 big beetroot off the second allotment and these are also from last year and will find out if they are any good once cooked. I will continue harvesting the Parsnips and digging over this part of the allotment before moving over to the second plot.

Went down the allotment

Today I went down the allotment for about 2 hours in the afternoon and done some more digging and rotivating. I continued to dig between the fruit cage and polytunnel and I am nearly half way and this has also been rotivated. As a result of the dry, sunny and warm weather we have been experiencing recently the ground was beginning to dry out. In the next few days when I can in between work and college work I will continue to dig and rotivate the rest of this ground.

Popped down the allotment

Today I popped down the allotment for about 2 1/2 hours and I started to dig over the last 6 feet between the fruit cage and polytunnel on my allotment. I also took the rotivator down to the allotment to start to rotivate where I was digging. I will continue to finish this when given the time to do so.

Went down to the allotment

Today I went down the allotment for about 2 hours and I cleaned out and tidied up the Greenhouse as well as cleared up around the raised beds. I also brought home some of the pots and trays so I can plant into them and take them back down at some point.

Popped down the allotment

This morning I popped down to the allotment to look at both the allotments and there are a few things that I have noticed which need doing, these are:

- Clearing out of polytunnel borders
- Digging of polytunnel borders
- Repair polytunnel cover with repair tape
- Clear out of greenhouse
- Dig over allotment 1
- Clear and dig over allotment 2
- Cut down any loganberry/raspberry canes which have appeared in amongst the Rhubarb
- Tidy up raised beds
